Paulton secured a fine win at Bishops Cleeve in memory of the club’s President, Lawrence Rogers, who died on Monday.

Rovers went ahead after six minutes and after a decent build-up, Ryan Radford linked with Sol Wheatley, who set up Jordan Ricketts. His shot was deflected to Kailan Gould to turn the ball past home keeper, Marc Wright.

Ricketts then fired over the bar and Gould brought a fine save from Wright.

Paulton pressure saw Elliott Gibbons have a goal disallowed on the half hour.

Rovers flew out of the blocks in the second half and on fifty minutes it was 2–0 as a Radford pass saw Gould outplace the Mitres’ defence to fire past Wright.

Three minutes later it was 3–0 to the visitors as Wheatley’s long throw on the right was headed out to Gould. His half volley was flicked on by Gibbons into the net.

Paulton’s keeper, Andrew Hannah, was called into action to smother Jacob Davidge and Shane Bumphrey shot over the bar.

Bishops Cleeve were awarded a penalty for a foul which appeared to be outside the area. Davidge hit home the spot kick.

Four minutes from time, Paulton were awarded an equally dubious penalty which Gould converted to grab his well deserved hat trick.
