Radstock Town net a win in final minute

Last Saturday saw Radstock Town FC entertain visitors, Corsham Town. The home team eventually brought home the win with a free kick from Ian Jeffrey, which was played in to the box and Tom Stocks rose above them all to head the ball into the back of the net in the nintieth minute, with the away goalkeeper standing little chance of saving it.

Radstock Town are holding on to the fifth place in the Toolstation Western League Division One on 65 points, with their nearest rivals, on 75 points, in fourth.

Radstock Town’s Under-18s head to Weston-super-Mare on Wednesday 19th April for their Somerset Youth Floodlight League Cup Final against Clevedon Town FC. It is the second consecutive year the young Miners have reached this final, after closely losing out to Yate last season. It is a fantastic finale for many players who have reached the age limit at the end of this season.

This final continues on the success of this season’s unbelievable run in the FA Youth Cup and they have also challenged for the league title in their first Premier Division season. The game at The Woodspring Stadium kicks off at 7.45 p.m.
