Peasedown says a fond farewell to Minister

By Leah Smith in Local People

Peasedown St John Methodist Church has said a fond farewell to their much-loved and incredibly hard-working minister, Rev. Michelle Ireland, on April 30th.

Michelle came to us ten years ago as a newly-qualified minister, having been a teacher, local preacher, and church worker before training for the ministry. She has since proved to be a remarkable minister of the gospel here and at Carlingcott, Timsbury and Chew Stoke.

She has preached regularly, bringing the message of God’s love to us in a huge variety of ways, and has been a true shepherd leading her flock, coming alongside us in our times of need.

She has supported every area of the church; the youngest child to the oldest member knows and loves Michelle. She has been a wonderful vicar, a tireless supporter of all the activities of the church, and was always approachable. She shows her faith in Jesus in all that she does and the church and the community will miss her greatly. We pray that God will bless Michelle, as she moves to her new appointment in the Forest of Dean.
