78 Ladies from around the West Country played last week in Farrington Park’s Ladies Spring Open. The sun shone all day and everyone enjoyed the course with some very competitive scoring.
Two out of three Stableford scores counted on each hole in this Bowmaker format. The Best Visitors’ team was the Bath Golf Club team of Mary Perkins, Kathy Ogden and Frances Philbrook, with an excellent score of 87 points.
On 86 points was Fiona Hassard, Lally Gibson and Tracey Watt who took the best home team prize.
It was the team of Margaret Blackaller from Taunton and Pickeridge with Karen Sammons and Wendy Walker from Enmore Park, who took the overall winners’ prize with an outstanding 88 points.

Men’s Lombard Medal, 6th May
The Lombard Medal qualifier was played in tough, windy conditions and set a stern test to the competitors on the day with the prize of playing with Professional, Alex Todd at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club in the next round.
The top three scores were very close, with Jon Brignull in third, with a score of 88–69 and in second, losing on count back, Don Perry, with a score of 86–68 and partnering Alex to Burnham is the winner, Ian Allwood, with a score of 81–68.
Midweek Stableford results – Division One:
