Fosseway Bowls Club on tour

By Becky Brooks in Bowls

Monday evening saw a lot of members catching up with their club competitions, but there was still a few playing in the Monday evening club night.

There were no county games until the Ladies were visited by Nailsea to play a Mendip League game. Although we won on two rinks and lost on one, Nailsea won overall by four shots. So we got four points.

On Friday we played Bath Ladies in the third round of the Southey Cup. Bath came out as overall winners and we wish them well in the next round.

The Men played a County League game on Saturday against Norwest B at home, and won on two rinks, lost on one, and won overall by four shots, thus gaining ten points.

Bob Jordon thanks everyone who came to the club on Friday to cut the hedge on the side of the clubhouse. As he says, more hands make light work. He also suggests having a good blitz inside and outside the club by all members once the season is over. This will make for a better understanding of what is needed to keep this a great club.

Don’t forget the Monday night club night, when new members will be most welcome. Even if you have never played before, come along and try out this great game.
