Prattens lose out in Plate

Prattens’ Ladies had a good win Away to Shepton Mallet in the Wild League, taking eleven of the twelve available League points; Prattens won on two rinks, drew on one and won overall by 36 shots to 30.

Unfortunately, Prattens’ Men lost out to Norwest in the Wedmore Plate. In a Mixed Friendly at Home to Paulton, Prattens won on three rinks, lost on one and won overall by 68 shots to 55. In a second Mixed Friendly at Home to Fry’s, Prattens won on two rinks, lost on one and won overall by 42 shots to 35.

In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies have a Wild League game Away to Castle Cary and a Friendly at Home to Winscombe. There is a Mixed Mid-Somerset League game Away to Castle Cary and there is a Mixed Friendly game Away to Shepton Mallet.

Club nights continue on Mondays at 6 p.m. All are welcome to come along and try the game of bowls, just wear flat shoes. Bowls can be borrowed and coaching is available for free. If you are interested but can’t make a Monday evening please contact Barrie or Pauline Dando on: 01761 412705.
