Broadlands Academy in Keynsham is delighted to appoint Laura Stone as principal who will resume the role from September 1.

She arrives at Broadlands from Ark Putney Academy, where she worked as vice principal.

Ms Stone also worked as a senior leader and acting principal at Ark Burlington Danes, as well as leading the Ark Teacher Training programme. She has also completed an MA in Education. When she joins Broadlands in September, Ms Stone will be focused on further building on the excellent reputation Broadlands has within the community and working towards further enhancing the performance of the school following its strong OFSTED inspection in 2023. Ms Stone is particularly committed to engaging with families and the Keynsham community as Broadlands enters its next exciting phase of development as a school.

Laura said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as the principal of Broadlands Academy.

“I look forward to building on the current successes of the staff and students and developing a community where academic success sits alongside sporting and creative endeavours.  I am excited to move back to the area where I started my teaching career and have the chance to lead the Broadlands community through the next stage of its journey.”

Karl Sampson, regional education director at Academies Enterprise Trust, said: “We are delighted to appoint Laura as the new principal at Broadlands. Laura is a fantastic school leader with an excellent record of supporting staff and students to achieve great things. We have every faith that under Laura’s leadership, Broadlands will continue to excel.”
