Somer Valley Rediscovered are hosting a bat walk at Waterside Valley.

On Tuesday 12th September, join Somer Valley Rediscovered for an evening bat walk led by professional bat ecologists.

Starting at 7:30pm with a brief talk about bat ecology and conservation, participants will then go for a gentle stroll around the meadows and along the river, looking and listening out for different bat species. The organisation will use bat detectors to pick up the bats echolocations and work out what species they have recorded. The session will finish at 9:30pm.

Somer Valley Rediscovered have released some useful info ahead of tomorrow's event:

  • Steeper ground and unstable paths will be explored - wear sturdy footwear.
  • Bring a torch!
  • All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Dogs should be left at home.
