Behraam (Ben) Wahid, from High Littleton and Tom Sutton of North Walsham, Norfolk, recently undertook the challenge of the End to End cycle ride to raise money for the international charity, Water Aid.

Starting their journey at John O'Groats on Tuesday, 14th August, they cycled a total of 1,007 miles, reaching Land's End on Saturday, 25th August.

Despite the difficult weather conditions, they enjoyed cycling through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the British Isles, meeting many interesting fellow travellers along the way.

Speaking about the challenge, Behraam said: "I have always been interested in cycle touring and this final summer vacation provided an ideal opportunity to undertake both a tough challenge as well as raise money for a good cause.

"The main difficulties we encountered were mental rather than physical; whether it be cycling into a headwind along the west coast of Scotland, or tackling the seemingly endless hills of Cornwall, we knew our bodies could do it as long as we could set our minds to the task.

"The trip allowed us to see a large part of the British Isles and our route took us through Dornoch, Fort Augustus, Oban, the Isle of Arran and Dumfries in Scotland as well as Liverpool, Leominster, High Littleton (of course!), Chulmleigh and Perranporth."

Both Behraam and Tom graduated this July in Civil Engineering from the University of Southampton. They chose Water Aid as their charity for its innovative solutions to the global water crisis. They hope to raise £1,000 in total. Donations can be made on their JustGiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/">http://www.justgiving.com/
