Paul Charlton, of Connaught Freemasons Lodge, has now completed his fundraising challenge for Cancer Research UK. Throughout March he was walking 10,000 steps a day, a total of 310,000 steps. However, he was so enthusiastic he actually walked 343,783 which is 262 km: the equivalent of walking from Bath to Preston in Lancashire. In doing so, he lost 4.5 kg in weight.

At the start, Paul set himself a target of raising £250; however, he has now exceeded £1,000, which was helped by a £200 donation from the Connaught Lodge’s charity account that was readily agreed by all the Brethren. Paul would like to thank all those who have supported him in this challenge.
