Just before Christmas, Bev Nichols, local fitness instructor, held a fundraising Zumba party to help thank the Cardiac Ward at the Royal United Hospital, Bath, for helping her stepfather, Tom. He was cared for by the wonderful staff earlier in 2018, and Bev was keen to give something back.

The party was held at Westhill Sports and Community Centre on Friday, 21st December. Bev says: “A massive thank you to everyone who came to the party – donated raffle prizes, bought raffle tickets and who helped me with this event.

“Together we raised £905 to give to the ward to purchase a new tea urn for the patients and to put towards a bladder scanner. Special thanks goes to Terry and Annette at Westhill Sports and Community Centre, Dave for the photography, Selwyn for standing in for Father Christmas, Olly for being a Super Hero, Jenny, Mum and Fi for helping with the raffle and door, and to Jess and Kacper for helping set up."

Bev will be presenting the funds raised to Cardiologist, Daniel Wagstaff, at the Royal United Hospital on Thursday this week.
