This year, The Fabulous Baker Brothers, Tom and Henry Herbert, are encouraging individuals, businesses, schools and nurseries to sign up and support The Forever Friends Appeal’s brand new fundraising event for Bath’s Royal United Hospital: ‘Ted’s Big Bake Off’, which begins next week.
Ted’s Big Bake Off, proudly sponsored by Mogers Drewett Solicitors, is the brand new annual fundraising week for the Appeal. Taking place between Monday, 5th and Friday, 9th October, the event asks individuals and organisations across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire to pre-heat their ovens, prepare their mixing bowls and get baking to support the RUH Cancer Care Campaign or a ward or department of their choice at the Hospital. Whether it’s holding a coffee morning, bake sale or hosting a bake-off competition at work, school or with friends and family, you can help raise some serious dough to help transform care for patients and their families.
Tom and Henry, who have their own show on TLC and two books to their name, are fifth generation bakers who are also famed for fronting Hobbs House Bakery, their popular family-run business and cooking school in Chipping Sodbury. Events and Community Officer for the Appeal, Emily Lynch, says: “We are absolutely thrilled that Tom and Henry are supporting Ted’s Big Bake Off, our brand new annual fundraising week for the RUH. As part of Ted’s Big Bake Off week, on Friday, 9th October Appeal staff and volunteers will be holding the ‘RUH Big Bake Sale’, our attempt to hold the biggest cake sale the RUH has ever seen! Tom will be visiting the RUH on the day to officially open the cake sale and to also meet staff, volunteers, patients and visitors at the hospital. All profits will go towards our RUH Cancer Care Campaign which is raising £8.5 million towards the build of an exceptional new Cancer Centre.”
