RESIDENTS are invited to come together at Bath Guildhall on Tuesday, February 24, to commemorate four years since Russia’s full‑scale invasion of Ukraine.
Bath & North East Somerset Council’s resettlement team is hosting the evening of remembrance in the historic Guildhall to provide a space for reflection and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
The early‑evening event runs from 4.30 pm to 6.45 pm and will include short speeches, moments of reflection, Ukrainian music, and opportunities for community connection.
Cllr Kevin Guy, leader of B&NES, said: “Four years on and we continue to defend democracy and stand in solidarity with Ukraine and its people.
“People across Bath & North East Somerset are still helping Ukrainian people displaced by this war supported by our resettlement team and tremendous work has also been done by the Friends of Oleksandriya group, all of whom will be warmly welcomed to the Guildhall to mark this anniversary.”
The event is free to attend but places are limited and booking is essential, which must be done online.
It is open to members of the Ukrainian community, their sponsors and hosts, and residents who wish to mark the anniversary and stand with Ukraine.
Following the Guildhall event, attendees are also invited to continue the evening by attending a special commemorative concert, United4Peace, at 7.30 pm in Bath Abbey, organised by the Friends of Oleksandriya.
Tickets for the concert are available via Bath Box Office, with discounted tickets available for refugees.
