Following the quick-fire collapse of the Tory party, Boris Johnson has been pushed to resign from his peers.
The PM made a statement in front of number 10 Down Street today where he will publicly announced his resignation, stating: “It is clearly now the will of the parliamentary Conservative Party that there should be a new leader of the party and therefore a new Prime Minister...
“...I want to thank you, the British public, for the immense privilege that you have given me. “From now on, your interests will be served and the Government of the country will carry on.”
Although resigning as Conservative leader today, it is said he will continue as Prime Minister through to the autumn.
