Chilcompton Sports have built two new teams of players at the U7s age group level. Some are at the entry stages of grassroots football, while others have progressed from Chilcompton’s Soccertots club, which focuses on ball mastery.

One of the teams play Sunday league football in the Midsomer Norton Youth Football League, while the other focuses on friendly matches.

The sponsorship opportunity came from one of the team members’ fathers, who works for the well-known construction company, Brandwells.

Manager and Coach, Adam Gould, said: “Even though we have two teams, it is very much still one squad. At this young stage it is all about having fun and developing basic skills, along with an understanding of the game. All of our players are at different levels and it is nice to have the option of two teams, enabling us to switch players between the squad, as and when required.”

Adam went on to say: “At the beginning stage of league football we are often gifted pre-loved kits from older age groups, which are often mismatched and well worn. However, one of our new players’ fathers, Nathan, stepped forward to offer us a sponsorship deal on behalf of Brandwells Construction. They have been really generous and we feel very lucky.”
