Last week’s Mystery Photograph came to us courtesy of Kay Harvey and the Downside Abbey Archives and was the Tithe Barn, Midsomer Norton, now the Church of the Holy Ghost, thought to have been taken around 1906.
Quite a few of you guessed correctly this week and apologies to anyone we may have missed: Paul Hancock, Jonathan Griffin, Deb Hellyer, Les Box and Hannah Selway, Andrew Thayer, Sue Granger, Simon Ball, Jeff Parsons, Charlotte Keevill, Linda McGregor, Martina Mitchard, Neil Gillard, Dan Clark, Sylvia Bowering, Scott Shepherd, Mike Ford, Anthony Young, Sheena Latchem, Elaine Bowen, Lucy Edwards, Norma Attwood, Colin Button, Dr Eleanor Jackson, Terry Reakes, Alan Norris and Frankie Ford. Well done, everyone!
Thanks especially to Andrew Thayer and Dan Clark, who sent us a photograph of the church as it looks today.
If you think you can guess the location of the photograph (top), supplied by Radstock Museum, and would like a mention, email: [email protected] or via Facebook or Twitter @MNR Journal. You can even send us a photograph of what the scene looks like today.
A very big thank you to Radstock Museum, who continue to support this feature in partnership with The Journal.
Don’t forget the Museum’s ‘Memories over Elevenses’ event, which is held on the first Friday of the month from 10.30 a.m. until 12 noon, where visitors can bring old photographs, objects and documents and share your stories and knowledge with the team.
Complementary tea, coffee and cakes are on offer – please bring along a friend, or come alone and make some new ones!
