We had a huge response to last week’s Mystery Photograph, and although we have featured this local landmark before, it was too good a photograph not to include. A big thank you to Kevin Scrivens, who sent this in to us just before the office closed in March. If you have any at home, they can be emailed to us via: [email protected]

Last week’s photograph was of the Stones Cross pub, in Midsomer Norton.

Well done to: Simon Chard, Wendy Treasure, Gilmour Jones, Keith and Loraine Pursey, Eric Brain, Neil Gillard, Caroline and Terry Wynne, Les Box and Hannah Selway, Janet Toogood, Rod Hisug-Bridges, Meg Rodgers, Gary Sage, Graham Brown, Nicky Mills, Martin Horler, Hilary Sellars, Liam Kirby, Alison Shipley, Angela Wilson, Ann Windsor, Louise Gould, Sally Sims, Martina Mitchard, Julie Rowe, Terry Harris, Frankie Ford, Gary Dando, Philip Easley, Roger Clark, Graham Sage, Roy Barnes and Val Rogers, Mike Ford, Stuart Gregory, Jonathan Griffin, Dan Clark, Hilary Brown, Ivor Davis, Robert Gilderthorp, Peter Attwood, Christine Oatley, Sharon Presley, Elaine Bowen, Peter Box, Angela Roberts, Pete Brimble, Pam Dukes, Sue Spear, Judith Stanford and Jo Barnes, who all guessed correctly! Thanks everyone, for taking the time to get in touch.

Pam Dukes emailed us to say: “First of all, I’m really glad you’re back – you published me and my sister’s names from the last Mystery Photograph before Covid. My Mum used to be so pleased to see our names in print.

“We sadly lost her in May – she was 96 and lived in Midsomer Norton all her life.

“The Mystery Photograph this week is of Stones Cross, Midsomer Norton.

My Mum’s Dad, Albert Walton, is on there somewhere. He is clearly seen on another similar picture. The locals put on a Carnival to raise money for the local hospital around the time of WW1.”

Thank you to Radstock Museum, who have provided this week’s photograph – if you think you know whereabouts it was taken and would like a mention next week, email: [email protected] or get in touch with us via Facebook or Twitter @MNRJournal
