Peasedown St John will be hosting a special Music Festival on 23rd May from 2 p.m. to raise money for little Harmonie-Rose, who last year lost both her arms, legs and the tip of her nose after contracting meningitis.

Her parents and a group of supporters are now trying to raise £250,000 for her rehabilitation, home adaptations and hydrotheraphy treatment. They have done amazingly well so far, raising over £179,000.

Organiser of Peasedown's Music Festival event, mum of two, Lizzie Smith, has already donated a huge amount of her time. She said: "I was so touched by Harmonie-Rose's story and want to make a difference to her life."

So far, Lizzie has managed to secure a venue and has been booking bands, but is now looking for people to provide face painting, glitter tattoos and other activities for children, plus asking for volunteers to help on the day. If you can give even an hour of your time, that would be a great contribution to the event.

Labour candidates standing for Peasedown St John in the forthcoming election, Jonathan Rich and Lesley Mansell, were at a recent planning meeting at the village cricket club. Jonathan said: "People in Peasedown St John have shown how much they care in the past and we have an excellent reputation for supporting others – I am sure this event will be a huge success."

Lesley Mansell said: "I am backing this event, as it is important to ensure that Harmonie-Rose has the best quality of life in future. So, buy your tickets now!"

Lizzie can be contacted on: 07715 802982 and is waiting to hear from you if you can help or would like to buy a ticket to the event, which takes place at Peasedown St John Cricket Club on Saturday, 23rd May, from 2 p.m.
