The Midsomer Norton & District Carnival Association surprised locals with an announcement yesterday that a virtual Carnival will be taking place this evening.

The town’s annual Carnival has a long and rich history, and there will be many who will be missing it this year - not to mention the local charities that benefit from the event.

Taking the festivities online, a link will be posted on the Carnival Association’s Facebook page at 7.30 pm tonight. The announcement said: It will "spread some much needed brightness, colour and fun this Monday."

The virtual carnival will be sharing entries from last year and exclusive ’lockdown style’ interviews with local clubs to give you an insight into how the local event works. There will be a full set of results in Carnival tradition - and this year, at least, you can enjoy it from the warmth of your home!
