The local community are invited to come together to celebrate ‘Carols by Laserlight,’ Midsomer Norton’s annual Christmas Lights Switch-on event, organised by Churches Together, next Friday, 7th December. The event will run from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Methodist Church and Hollies Garden.
‘Carols by Laserlight’ is exactly what the name suggests!
The Methodist Church will look spectacular in laserlight with a fantastic live band to lead favourite Carols inside the building from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Groups from Longvernal, Welton, St John’s and Midsomer Norton Primary Schools will join the evening, performing songs – whilst local children will share readings as the nativity story is brought to life on the stage. At the end of the carol extravaganza, the attendees will walk over to the Hollies Garden to lead the main lights switch-on.
Meanwhile, Father Christmas has upped sticks and brought his Grotto and elves to the Hollies Garden, where he will be located from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. There will also be some festive craft activities for families, as well as a bouncy castle and face painter.
The traditional countdown and switch-on of the lights in the High Street will take place in the Hollies Garden at 7.10 p.m. Treat yourself to a free Hot Chocolate and Mince Pie whilst
enjoying music from the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band. As the event draws to a close, attendees will be welcomed back into the warmth of the Church for some hot drinks and craft stalls. For details on the event, phone: 01761 419133.
