To celebrate International Women’s Day last week, Cllr Karen Walker, (Independent, Peasedown St John), organised an event in the village, inviting local women along.

Karen said: “Thank you to all the amazing women who came along and shared their stories last Thursday.

“It was encouraging and heart-warming to hear about the contributions that local women have made to our community. They certainly are our suffragettes of today!”
