On 7th June, a dozen Mendip Golf Club Seniors, together with Club Director of Golf, Stuart Disney, undertook a remarkable challenge to raise further funds for the Seniors Captain’s chosen Charity, Prostate Cancer UK.
Starting at 6:30 a.m. these players commenced a 54 hole marathon event completing their final round well into the early evening.
The teams walked in the region of 35,000 steps and between 15-18 miles up and down the Mendip hills.
At the conclusion there was a large gathering of supporters to welcome the players back and refreshments and celebrations continued well into the late evening.

More than 150 people in Bath and North East Somerset without a home this ChristmasThe winning team of David Braithwaite, Gareth Collier and John Ellis amassed 240 stableford points over the three rounds.
Special mention should go to Stuart Disney who shot a Gross 66 with four birdies and an eagle in his final round.
A splendid amount of £2,500 from this event alone was raised for the charity adding to the already considerable sum raised so far this year. Seniors Captain, Alan Edwards is to be congratulated for the incredible efforts that he is putting in this year to raise funds for his charity.
