A treehouse for an outdoor play area will soon be built at Move the Mind, a charity near Kilmersdon, thanks to money raised by Midsomer Norton and Radstock Inner Wheel Club.

President, Sue Hopkins, presented a £750 cheque to Move the Mind’s Nicole Gillard, who set up the farm two years ago to help young people with autism and additional needs through riding and animal therapy.

Already the farm has horses, miniature Shetland ponies, goats, sheep, pigs, alpacas and ducks and Nicole’s valuable therapeutic work with schools to encourage communication and team-building in the young people and their families was recently featured on TV.

Club members raised the money from a very successful Fashion Show, headed up by Heather Langridge, and further money from the event is to be donated to Radikals, a club in Radstock for eleven to eighteen-year-olds.

Sue Hopkins is continuing for a second year as Inner Wheel President and, at the Club’s recent AGM, appreciative members presented her with a garden voucher and bouquet of flowers. The trophy for the highest scorer in the year’s skittles competition was won by Jacky Emm.

The club welcomes new members, who can now discover its many and varied activities via its Facebook page, ‘Inner Wheel Club of Midsomer Norton and Radstock’, or by phoning Sue on: 07944 298036.
