Knowle Angling Association was formed at the Knowle Hotel, hence its name in 1923, and is proudly celebrating its centenary.

The association is a a sociable and family friendly club which provides fly fishing in the Chew Valley and surrounding area. The club have four lakes that are stocked regularly with trout, supplied by Bristol Water, which are are superb quality fish.

The club also have six miles of fly fishing on the river Chew, with stretches of the upper Yeo. Whilst using worm at certain times of year is allowed on the Chew, the vast majority of our members only use the fly. There is usually a good mayfly hatch on the Chew and there is a good head of both wild brown trout and stocked rainbows all of which will rise to dry flies in the right conditions.

All of our waters are set in the beautiful countryside of the Chew and Yeo valleys, with Pensford, Chew Magna and Chew Stoke being the key local towns.

With our combination of waters the club offer excellent fly fishing 365 days a year, provides excellent value fishing and welcomes new members. For more information and membership details please see: knowleangling.co.uk Ray Tomlin
