Members of the Bath Business community attended a networking breakfast organised by the Bath Half Marathon team to find out how they can support the City’s biggest annual fundraising event.
The Bath Half Marathon team hosted the breakfast, which took place at the Pump Rooms on Thursday, 14th December and attracted more than forty businesses.
Race Director, Andrew Taylor, said: “We have a large number of diverse companies and organisations with runners taking part in the race each year; most use the event to raise money for their chosen charities and for team-building purposes. We wanted to take the opportunity to meet some of these businesses that take part in the Corporate Challenge and also let others know how they can get involved in the future.”
Marc Cuddihy, of Beckford James, who is also Chairman of the Martin Roberts Foundation, which supports educational and wellbeing initiatives for children and young people, said: “As someone who has run the Bath Half Marathon many times, I am always very impressed with the organisation of the race, and I also commend the Director, Andrew Taylor, and his team for the great work they do supporting so many charities.
“Over the years, an incredible amount of money has been raised, which helps charities make a difference. The presentation event by Andrew Taylor gave us even more of an insight into the great work that the Bath Half Marathon do.”
The Bath Half Marathon has become well established as one of the city’s biggest annual events. Now in its 36th year, the event attracts 15,000 runners and an estimated 30,000 spectators.
