The Assembly Room of the Town Hall was the venue for discussions on the Avon Pension Fund ending fossil fuel investments, votes on cash for cycling and cultural projects across the West of England and agreement on how to deliver record levels of money secured for transport over the next five to ten years.

Metro Mayor Dan Norris said: “I’m delighted to bring the West of England Combined Authority meeting to Midsomer Norton.

“The Combined Authority works for all residents so I am determined we do not just hold meetings in Bristol and Bath.

“We voted through some important measures to improve transport and discussed how we can take action to tackle the climate emergency.

“It was great to be back in the Town Hall and I can’t wait to see the exciting redevelopment plans in action”.
