On Sunday, 12th November, services took place across the country to remember those who lost their lives in conflict across the world.
The Parade through Midsomer Norton High Street was led by the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band, and included members of the Midsomer Norton Scouts, The Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band, played ‘Nimrod’ before the start of the service, while Silver Band member, eleven-year-old Aidan Johnson, played the Last Post.
Wreaths were laid at the War Wemoral by the Vice Chairman of BANES, Cllr Karen Walker, Veteran Joe Vango and a member of the Avon and Somerset Police Cadets. Revd Christopher Chiplin gave a short speech, which was heard by the large crowd in attendance.
In Radstock, wreaths were laid by the Mayor of Radstock, Kieth Tyrrell, Cllr Walker and members of the Pritchard family, while Revd Jan Tate took the service. Max Feeney, the Standard Bearer for Midsomer Norton and Radstock RBL, lowered the standard to Clare Knight’s Last Post.
