Local business, Radstock Carpet & Bed Centre have generously donated to the Community Food Network (CFN).
For the last four weeks, CFN have been donating Care Bags to local people who are struggling to feed themselves. The Care Bags are designed to contain enough food for three days’ worth of breakfasts, lunches and main meals for a household.
Care Bag availability is posted on the CFN’s Facebook page on a Friday. The post is shared widely around local community Facebook groups. People who are in need are then invited to message the page to request a Care Bag. Care Bags are donated on a ‘No Questions Asked’ policy. Guests (the name given to the people being donated to) are then given a location and time to collect the Care Bags. This has been on a Monday night at around 7 pm.
After Radstock Carpet & Bed Centre saw CFN’s initial post about Care Bags, they immediately contacted CFN and offered their support. Working with CFN, Pippa Wilcox, a Carpet Fitter for Radstock Carpet & Bed Centre, designed the three day Care Bag.
