There was a buzz of excitement at Midsomer Norton Town Hall last Saturday as enthusiastic children dropped in to make crowns and animal masks to wear at the town's Nativity Fayre this Friday, 7th December. There will be more than three Kings at the parade judging by the amount of glitter and jewels used to decorate the crowns in readiness for the event.

There is a final opportunity to make masks, crowns and other festive crafts at a free workshop held at Midsomer Norton Library between 3.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Overall preparations for this year's event are now in place and for what looks like a great evening for the whole family. There will be market stalls from 5.00 p.m. and the Nativity Procession will be gathering outside Midsomer Norton Methodist Church from 6.30 p.m.

A very special guest from the North Pole is anticipated to pay an early visit to lead the procession to the lights switch-on in his extraordinary looking sleigh. Everyone is being asked to bring a contribution of non-perishable food for the new Foodbank as detailed in the programme.

The evening will also include a chance to see the Christmas Nativity unfold before you very eyes and everyone is being encouraged to dress up as a Nativity character and literally get in the picture.

The evening will round off with a chance to go Christmas shopping in the town and win £150 in the event competition.
