A huge well done to everyone who donned their aprons or made a brew for last Friday’s Macmillan Coffee Morning, the annual baking event which helps raise a massive amount for the charity which supports people and their families living with cancer. There were many of you who were involved locally – so whether you baked, bought or sold a cake last week in aid of the cause, a big pat on the back to you!
Committee members and helpers of Midsomer Norton Macmillan Cancer Support, pictured last Friday morning at Midsomer Norton Methodist Church Hall, raised just under £700, the highest amount ever raised by the group for this event.
Staff at Jacarandas, in Midsomer Norton High Street, raised a massive £542.20, which included a raffle with prizes donated by local companies, a Mulberry wallet one of them!
Writhlington Village Hall held a coffee morning supported by Writhlington and Mendip Studio Schools and Connections, raising £458.10.
Holy Trinity Church, Paulton, raised almost £250 with their Macmillan event, with a record number of people attending. A cake competition was held, with many visiting the church for the first time. Coffee mornings are held every Tuesday in
the room at the back of the church from 10 a.m.
Peasedown Councillor, Karen Walker, raised £250 with her Open House event, with the Peasedown Residents’ Association raising £123 at their event.
Staff at St James’s Place Wealth Management, in Radstock, made £400 at their sale last week.
