Amanda Hazell, Midsomer Norton Town Council's Deputy Clerk, has commented on her resignation ahead of tonight's 'Extraordinary Meeting of the Town Council'.
Amanda Hazell, said: "Further to the recent press release regarding resignations at the Town Council, it is again with deep sadness but somewhat unsurprising that Cllr Gordon Mackay has felt the need to respond regarding resignations. As it stands only the Clerk and Chair of the Council knows the reasons why I have resigned.
"A statement prepared by myself will be read out at the Council meeting this evening (Monday, 23rd January) in the hope the Council realise why two senior members of the staff have resigned within weeks of each other. My only hope is that the Councillors do not make the same mistakes again with the new staffing team.
"I would like to thank the Clerk for being an amazing manager over the past four years, and the admin assistants and Town Warden for being the perfect colleagues and my only regret is that we will no longer be a team. I wish everyone in Midsomer Norton all the best for the future."
The Deputy Clerk's resignation will be made official in a statement at tonight's 5.30pm meeting in the Council Chambers, The Hollies, Midsomer Norton.
