Thank you to the following readers’ who sent in their guesses:

Chris Gill thinks it is the Miner’s Office at Southfields in Radstock.

Stuart Gregory agrees, telling The Journal: “Was the Mystery Photograph taken at the Mineworkers Office Frome Hill Radstock?

“I feel sure the man on the far right was my grandfather, Frederick Gregory from Peasdown. He was a Miner and Union Representative at Braysdown Colliery Peasdown. He was also a Bathavon Councillor for Peasdown and I’ve always understood that Frederick Avenue was named after him in recognition of his service to Peasdown. He also started the Baptist Chapel at Eckwick Lane Peasdown.

“I think that is a Guss and Crook hanging at the back worn by boys around their waists to pull coal trucks underground.”

Can you guess where we are in this week’s Mystery Photograph? Where was it taken? Who are the people in the photograph?

Thank you to the late Graham Smith of Bath Old Road who gave the photograph to Councillor Eleanor Jackson.
