On behalf of the teams who support the monthly quizzes held at The Dolphin Inn, Welton, Martin Baber and Nicola Simmons have been pleased to forward the quiz profits on to two local groups, one being Laney and Mark’s Homeless Project and the other Singing for the Brain Group.

Each Saturday Laney and Mark Sandon-James take sandwiches, snacks, cake, fruit juice, socks, hats, gloves, underwear, toiletries, etc to the homeless people of Bath. The £250 from the Dolphin Quizzers purchased food vouchers and a number of items from Laney and Mark’s ‘wish list’ to assist their work with the homeless.

Singing for the Brain is a singing programme developed by the Alzheimer’s Society for people with memory problems. The £250 donation was received on their behalf by Chris Negus and Kath Still. Chris and Kath act as volunteer facilitators and this donation will help towards keeping our area dementia friendly and aware. The group meets on alternate Thursdays, 2 p.m. until 3.30 p.m. at Writhlington Village Hall.

If you fancy entering a team into the next quiz, come along to The Dolphin Inn on Sunday, 30th October, commencing at 7.30 p.m. Please contact Martin on: 07917 017292 for more details or to book your team.
