Another fun evening out for us all at Dunkerton Women's Institute; this time at Somer Valley Butchers, Knoll Farm.
A sausage making soiree, with both Graham the Butcher and Graham the Business Manager, in the newly renovated former dairy buildings on the farm.
Graham (the Butcher) demonstrated his years of experience at the sharp end - preparing meat for his delicious sausages.
Locally sourced, sustainably reared meat is on sale at the farm and we learned a little about the production of the variety of raw and cooked meats, pies and charcuterie that is available.
Our very own,Tina, was volunteered to ‘have a go’, under the expert tutelage of the Butcher and we watched in wonder, accompanied by gales of laughter, as she created, ‘Pork and Marmalade Chipolatas’ - a unique new recipe for the evening, using marmalade made by the husband of one of our members!
We each went on our way with the gift of half a dozen of the special edition chipolatas made by Tina … totally delicious!
