On Friday morning, parents were invited to Longvernal Primary School, Midsomer Norton, where an end of term Easter assembly and award show was held.

The children had three categories to enter – an Easter Bonnet-making competition, an egg-painting competition, and a miniature garden-building competition.

The winners of the Easter bonnet compeition were:

Nursery – Buddy, Reception – Harley, Year One – Millie, Year Two – Alfie, Year Three – Florence, Year Four – Brianna, Year Five – Evie. The winners of the Easter garden compeition were:

Nursery – Perry, Reception – William, Year One – Corey, Year Two – Lacey, Year Three – Freya, Year Four – Hope, Year Five – Nicola, Year Six – Elsie.

The assembly was attended by Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Paul Myers, who introduced himself to the students and gave a short speech, before congratulating the winners and handing out certificates and medals. Along with the Easter-themed awards, students who had perfect attendance over the last term were also given a medal and certificate.

Tea, coffee and homemade cakes were also on sale to the parents to raise money for the Years Five and Six school camp.
