Students from the Midsomer Norton and Bath South Kumon Centres have been showing off their artistic talents in a recent drawing competition set by their instructor, Jacqui Knowles.

Jacqui said: “Last year I asked the students to draw a picture of me! It was a great success and I had to put my thinking cap on to come up with and even better competition for this year.”

Kumon recently launched a Refer a Friend scheme and Jacqui asked her students to design a t-shirt, with this as the theme. She was inundated with entries and her judges had the difficult task of picking the top three for each age category and an overall winner.

The excitement does not stop there! The overall winning design has been converted into a t-shirt, which Jacqui will be selling to raise funds for two local charities, Children’s Hospice South West and The Children’s Society. Jacqui is looking forward to seeing as many of her students, their families and her staff wearing the t-shirts as soon as possible. She is planning to share regular updates on the money being raised.
