From 2023, Evolve Music will be expanding their services to the Frome area with their ‘Dads Rock’ and ‘Sound Lab’ sessions, thanks to support from Frome Town Council and Second Step.

The community music charity believe that “everyone has an innate musical ability” and are keen to get people involved.

The charity currently hold their community music sessions in Radstock, Bath and Bristol. ‘Dads Rock’ is a space for dads and their young children (0-5 years) to explore music and sound through songs stories and games. ‘Sound Lab’ is a group music session designed to meet the needs of all young people aged fourteen plus with neurological differences. The sessions are only held in Radstock and online at present.

Pupils attending Critchill School in Frome will get to explore sound tech and beats early next year with Sound Lab sessions, led by Evolve’s expert team of musicians.

The charity hosted a free online workshop on Thursday, 1st December, which was designed to introduce community music practitioners and early years practitioners to the benefits of and practical strategies for musical play with babies and young children with social, emotional, mental health and additional needs.

Further information on times, dates and venues for the Frome sessions will be announced in the new year.
