Pupils at Longvernal School, in Midsomer Norton, have been creating their own front page headlines recently, based on the extraordinary events of the evacuation of Dunkirk.

The front pages are the culmination of a project alongside Bath Spa University student teacher, Alison Buckeridge, who has been leading the Year 6 Sycamore class in their studies.

The pupils created their own way of telling the story, using the facts that they had learned in class. Mrs Buckeridge is taking part in a placement at Longvernal as part of her own studies.

The children also met with Journal Editor, Becky Brooks, last Wednesday, where they were able to ask her questions about her own newspaper headlines and the pressures of working to deadline!
