AN organisation which provides after-school tuition will give a £50 voucher to a child who gives the best explanation about why their teacher is ‘awesome’.

Kip McGrath Midsomer Norton will also award the school and teacher with a prize, along with the title of "Awesome Teacher of the Year 2024".

The competition is open to anyone from Midsomer Norton, Radstock and the surrounding areas between the ages of six and 16.

Midsomer Norton centre director, Sarah, said:  "Having taught in local schools for over 15 years I know that there are loads of awesome teachers out there.

"I can't wait to read through all the entries and to see the imaginative descriptions students give about their awesome teachers.”

Pupils can nominate any member of teaching staff.

Kip McGrath Midsomer Norton provides after-school tuition for students between the ages of 6 – 16 who are looking for support or extension in English and maths.

Each student is given a free educational assessment and the results are discussed confidentially with parents. If tutoring would help, an individual learning programme is designed around the child's requirements.

To enter the competition, visit the Kip McGrath Midsomer Norton’s Facebook page or pick up an entry form from the centre. Entry closes on March 14.
