A LOCAL school has been noted as being good in all areas by Ofsted.

Wrington CofE Primary School was subject to an inspection by the educational body in June 2025, where it was identified as having a “broad and ambitious curriculum” where “pupils achieve well and rise to the high expectations staff have of them.”

Ofsted inspectors also noted the “kind and happy nature of pupils.”

The report said: “They feel safe because staff care for them well. They are encouraged to 'flourish and aspire' as demonstrated by their attainment and curriculum.”

The range of opportunities offered to pupils was another area highlighted in the report, which said: “Pupils appreciate the chance to shine at Wrington due to the variety of opportunities.

“The school offers a range of opportunities to perform to develop confidence, for example at summer evening concerts.”

Headteacher, Ms Sarah Joskey, said: “I know what a special place Wrington Primary is, and I am so pleased that Ofsted recognised the fantastic staff and children we have.

“We are really proud of the exciting opportunities we offer pupils, especially around music and sport, and will continue to strive to offer them a strong and effective curriculum to help them flourish and aspire.”

Dr Gary Lewis, chief executive of Lighthouse Schools Partnership said: “Wrington CofE Primary is a delightful village school rooted in its community.

“This report describes pupils who are full of joy in their learning. The school’s staff are dedicated to ensuring that the children develop skills to become well rounded members of society. Ms Joskey, and her team, should be very proud of this report.”

This is the first time the school has been inspected under Section 5 of the Education Act 2005, and was conducted under the new Ofsted framework in which single word judgements for overall effectiveness are no longer awarded.
