Norton Radstock Photographic Society members went in different directions with cameras locally this week despite the heat.

Whilst the Bristol Harbour Festival attracted some, county cricket at Taunton others, and the tranquillity of Frogmary Green Farm was a temptation for the ever busy Lou, others went further afield to London, Yorkshire and Newcastle for work, family visits and celebrations, as well as a long excursion to Skomer for the ever attractive puffins: so no shortage of subject matter!

As the schools break up for the summer, and the days drift towards the glories of autumn, we still have some planning going on for afternoon and evening outings, as well as a day trip to the abandoned village of Imber in August. There will, of course be no shortage of local shows, fairs and fetes, but ideas abound, and at the moment possibilities include a trip to the Birds of Prey at Newton St. Loe, a climb to the top of Burrow Mump and a walk on the Levels nearby, the search for a sunset over Ashton Windmill, tea and cake at Yeo Valley, or Lavender or Sunflowers between Writhlington and Frome.

Somerset really does have much to offer, and we are never short of ideas. You only have to look at our website for inspiration, and if you fancy joining us on a summer jaunt then please contact us through there.
