An action-packed Family Fundraising Day will be held in Peasedown St John this Saturday to raise money for the Hope for Harmonie Appeal.

Harmonie Rose Allen, from Bath, was diagnosed with Meningococcal Septicaemia last Autumn at just eleven months old – and, as a result, had to have all four of her limbs amputated. Ever since, fundraising efforts across the country have led to more than £200,000 being raised to help pay for specialised equipment, home modifications and prosthetics.

The Peasedown St John event is being organised by local resident, Carly Jefferies, who is a friend of the family. She said: "This Saturday is all in aid of Harmonie Rose Allen – to help raise funds for her future needs after surviving the deadly disease, Meningococcal Septicaemia, with the devastating consequences of becoming a quadruple amputee.

"Harmonie has not let this defeat her and is now happily at home after having her skin grafts. She will constantly need prosthetics as she grows, along with many other things to help with her rehabilitation. Let's make this a great day for everyone."

With games, activities, face painting, bouncy castles, hair and beauty treatments and a chance to win a four-night break at Butlins, the whole community is expected to attend.

The event will be at Peasedown St John Cricket Club, Whitebrook Lane (BA2 8JH) this Saturday, 18th April, from 2 p.m. onwards and is one of many events being organised as part of the Hope for Harmonie Appeal. These include a Land's End to John O'Groats scrap car run, a Music Festival on 23rd May (also at Peasedown St John Cricket Club and featured in last week's Journal), an Electro Dance event at Komedia, Bath, and a reggae night at Bath City Football Club in August.
