A new partnership between a local sporting charity and a local primary school has been set up to provide more opportunities for children and families.
Sporting Family Change, who use sport to empower, inspire and motivate local families in Bath and North East Somerset, are now running free weekly sessions at Shoscombe Church School.
School Headteacher, Ruth Noall, said: “We are proud to be supporting a local charity-run organisation called Sporting Family Change.
“At Sporting Family Change, their aim is to use sport to empower, inspire and motivate local families in Bath and the surrounding area to making positive long-term lifestyle changes, creating opportunity for all.

The organisation is a need-sled charity set up by Jimmy Deane in 2014. They use a fully inclusive approach, working alongside the whole family, offering fun sports and healthy activities to improve fitness and build confidence. This helps inspire and motivate the whole family, encouraging them to raise their aspirations and make positive long-term lifestyle changes. Changes may appear to be very small, but for many of the families these are often hugely significant.
“Jimmy and his team provide free healthy snacks and lots of inside and outside activities for the whole family to enjoy,” added Ruth.
“Any local children and families, whether they attend Shoscombe Church School or not, can come along any Wednesday from 3.30 p.m. – 5.p.m.”
