Black Swan Arts is absolutely delighted to announce that one of their on-site artists, Daniel Musselwhite, is appearing on a national Television series - The hunt for Britain’s Next top jewellery star. The show is on BBC Two, and is called ‘All That Glitters’. It will be on Tuesday evenings at 8pm and began on Tuesday, 13 April.

Presented by Canadian comedian, Katherine Ryan, the series was filmed last year on location at Birmingham’s historic School of Jewellery, in the heart of the nationally renowned Jewellery Quarter.

British Vogue describes the new show as “like ‘Bake Off ’for Jewellery” and is sure to be a huge hit, with selection process already underway for a second series. “The judges on the show are two of Britain’s best-known contemporary jewellers, Solange Azagury-Partridge and Shaun Leane. They decide which of the eight contestants challenged to design and create a ‘Bestseller’ and ‘Bespoke’ piece each week deserves to be named ‘Jeweller of the Week’, and who should be sent home. On screen the physical aspect of the show is tense. The drilling, molten metal pouring and saw blades are used at high speed, and jewellery that would usually be created over several days has to be completed in three hours.”

Daniel Musselwhite has been making jewellery since 1995 and has gained exceptional experience in many areas, including silver, gold, platinum and palladium. He started his career as an apprentice in Church House Jewellery in Bristol, then went on to start his own business, creating bespoke work in his own bold, dynamic and unique style. His popular jewellery making classes are usually booked up months in advance, and his particular specialty is creating bespoke wedding rings together with couples. His passion for delivering high-quality, contemporary pieces is evident in every single piece in his collections. What wins over the public audience, is his friendly, upbeat and positively uplifting approach to his work. This results in much-loved, individually hand-made jewellery that you will want to treasure forever and pass through to families for generations.

Emma Warren, Centre Manager explains: “We are delighted to have such an inspirational and talented jeweller on site at Black Swan Arts. Dan has a studio shop downstairs (you can watch him work) overlooking our popular courtyard café, as well as bespoke space on the second floor where he teaches workshops and courses. He is such a friendly, down-to-earth and approachable artist with an infectious creative positivity. His jewellery and workshops will be in such huge demand, that I think we’ll have to start managing socially-distanced queues to see him at work!”

Black Swan Arts is the community arts centre in Frome which opened to the public thirty-five years ago in 1986. It has built a strong reputation for supporting and showcasing artists of exceptional quality and from all backgrounds.
