Timsbury experienced a day full of fun and creativity in early March, as eager participants took part in six workshops organised by Cam Valley Arts Trail Group at the Conygre Hall.

Several members of the Cam Valley Arts Trail Group led introductory workshops in Silver Jewellery, Modern Calligraphy, Mixed Media, Fused Glass, and Lino Cutting and Printing. These classes were instructed by Sophie Piddock, Lucy Empson, Jane Woodman, Jo Eddleston, and Andrew Eddleston, respectively.

The hall was buzzing with ideas and designs at one moment and at others there was a peaceful quiet as people concentrated and immersed themselves in learning new skills and being creative.

Corrine, who attended the jewellery workshop, said: “Very friendly and relaxed, clear instructions and help. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!” Debbie, who joined the fused glass workshop, said: “Introduction to a medium I’ve never tried, and I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop.”

Cam Valley Arts Trail Group is an organisation made up of local artists and craftspeople that formed in 2013 to set up a new annual arts trail for our local area. The aim of the group is to promote the arts and support local artists and craftspeople who live and work in and around the Cam Valley, as well as helping to make art accessible to everyone in the community.

A date for your diary is the Spring Exhibition and Sale from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, 4th May. Karen George, Chair, said: “This will be a great chance to come and see a large number of local artists all under one roof, and also be able to talk to the artists themselves about their work.”
