After consulting with local residents, Councillor Grant Johnson, Paulton Labour, decided to award £400 to the Second Paulton Scout Group for the purchasing of litter picking equipment.

Cllr Johnson had this to say: “It’s fantastic to use this money to provide new equipment for the Cubs, where I was once a member as a young lad.

“Sadly, we still live in a society where littering is a real issue, so it's great to know that the Scouting movement is prepared to facilitate and educate these little litter pickers from a young age.”

Mel Rich volunteers with the Cubs, she added: “This equipment is a great help for the Cubs as they work on their chosen project as part of their Community Impact and Environmental Conservation badges. We are very grateful to Grant for his support through this fund.”
