Farmborough Community Shop will be holding a barbecue on Saturday, 6th August on The Rec, (BA2 0BE) from 3 p.m, with locally produced burgers and sausages, plus perry and cider from Farmborough-based cider farm, The Tiny Welly Boot Vineyard.

Organisers are encouraging local suppliers to get in touch and for villagers to share their ideas for the new shop, which is hoping to be built behind Farmborough Memorial Hall and to be open by next spring. A planning application is due to be submitted within the next few weeks. Fun, family activities are also being planned on the day, including an outdoor skittle alley and egg throwing competition, plus there will be a display about the community shop and potential products to try.
