As the summer begins to come to an end, many Community Groups in Midsomer Norton will be looking forward to members coming back from their holidays and getting back into full swing with their respective activities. Now is a good time for them to think about applying for a Community Grant from Midsomer Norton Town Council, which is seeking applications for its second round of awards for the year.
Groups based in Midsomer Norton, or with members from Midsomer Norton, can apply for a grant, ranging from a hundred to several thousand pounds. Applications should be supported by clear evidence that people in the town will benefit from the funding, which ideally will be used towards a specific project which meets the Council’s criteria. The Council will consider applications at its meeting in early November 2016 and the closing date is Friday, 23rd September.
The Council continues to support a wide range of groups through the grants process, (including charities, voluntary groups and community groups) since it began to award
funding in 2011. Recent successful awards include funding for a charity project for families in the town and supporting the Silver Street Nature Reserve in managing their land.
