Six hundred singers from across the area will today (Wednesday, 15th November) converge on Wells Cathedral for a singing workshop this afternoon followed by a concert at 7pm this evening in the Cathedral.

The singers are members of the Good Afternoon Choirs. This choir project was started by Bath-based Grenville Jones fourteen years ago with the first Bath Good Afternoon Choir. Since that time twenty four have been added from Gloucestershire down to Cornwall and there are now over 1,000 folk who enjoy ‘Singing in the Afternoon’.

These no-audition community choirs are led by talented freelance musicians and today’s workshop and concert at Wells Cathedral will culminate in a concert starting at 7pm which will support the work of The Royal British Legion.

The workshop runs from 2pm-4pm and for further information please contact Grenville Jones on 07778 282934.
