Time is running out to sign up for the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme to get businesses broadband connections in the Somer Valley.
The voucher is part of a Government scheme to increase full fibre coverage across the UK, by offering grants to small businesses and the local communities surrounding them to contribute to the installation cost of a gigabit capable connection.
The vouchers allow businesses to claim up to £3,000 against the cost of connection, either as an individual or a group project. Residents can also benefit from the scheme as part of a group.
Local businesses are being encouraged to sign up for vouchers via the Somer Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber will then compare costs with a number of suppliers to ensure the best deal for companies in the area.
In order to help local businesses get the best deal possible, as many companies as possible need to sign up to the scheme using the form on the Somer Valley Chamber of Commerce’s website. Many local firms are already getting involved in the scheme, so don’t miss out!
Alistair Slade, from Midsomer Norton Town Council, said: “As the Town Councillor liaison with the Chamber of Commerce, I am keen to make sure that all businesses get the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of the broadband provision in and around the town, even if they are on contract with existing suppliers.”
